With an eye for the beautiful things in life, photography came naturally to Lainey. Although she found the technical aspect of photography a “necessary evil”, her curiosity and enthusiasm for everything around her, coupled with her natural artistic flare, brought her photos to vivid life.

Lainey really excelled at taking photos of people, particularly children, which wasn’t surprising considering how easily she built relationships with everyone she met. The photos she took of Inuit children in Greenland are a great example of this – although they didn’t share a common language, the children instantly trusted Lainey which resulted in a beautiful and natural series of photos.

Although Lainey lost her life to cancer in March 2020, her passion for life lives on through her photographs. We hope you derive as much pleasure looking at them as she did from taking them.
